Terms & Conditions
Last updated: January 2026
1. Booking & Confirmation
A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit and a signed booking form. The balance is due 60 days before departure. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking. Your Zuraya consultant will provide a detailed invoice and payment instructions.
2. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations 90+ days before departure: deposit forfeit only. 60–89 days: 50% of total cost. 30–59 days: 75% of total cost. Less than 30 days: 100% of total cost. Zuraya strongly recommends comprehensive travel insurance including trip cancellation cover.
3. Changes to Bookings
We will do our best to accommodate changes to your booking. Changes made more than 90 days before departure may be possible without penalty, subject to availability. Changes within 90 days may be subject to supplier change fees. Some elements — such as gorilla trekking permits — are non-refundable once issued.
4. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking with Zuraya Adventures. Your policy must include emergency medical cover of at least $1,000,000, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal liability. Proof of insurance must be provided 30 days before departure.
5. Pricing
All prices are quoted in US Dollars unless otherwise specified. Zuraya reserves the right to adjust prices in the event of significant currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, or changes in government levies. Any increase will be notified to you immediately and will not exceed 10% of the total package price.
6. Liability
Zuraya Adventures acts as an agent for lodges, camps, airlines, and activity operators. While we exercise the greatest care in selecting our partners, we cannot be held liable for any injury, damage, loss, or delay caused by third-party operators. Safari activities carry inherent risks which guests accept by travelling with us.
7. Force Majeure
Zuraya cannot be held liable for cancellations or changes resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, political instability, pandemic, or acts of government. In such cases, we will do our utmost to rebook travel at no additional cost, subject to supplier terms.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any dispute shall first be referred to mediation under the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration rules before resorting to legal proceedings.
