DAY BY DAY
Your Itinerary
Arrive Stone Town — A City That Layers Its History
Arrive at Zanzibar's Abeid Amani Karume Airport and transfer to your boutique riad in the heart of Stone Town. The afternoon is for wandering — narrow alleys, carved Arabic doors, the smell of cloves and cardamom. Your guide is available or you can explore alone. Dinner at a rooftop terrace above the dhow harbour.
Stone Town Deep Dive — UNESCO Heritage Layer by Layer
A full morning guided walk through Stone Town with a local historian: the House of Wonders, the Old Dispensary, the Slave Market memorial at the Anglican Cathedral, and the Persian Baths. Afternoon at leisure — the town rewards those who wander without a plan. Evening: traditional taarab music at a local venue.
Spice Farm Morning — Then North to the Beach
Morning spice farm tour where vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper grow in abundance — a feast for all senses. A traditional Zanzibari lunch follows. Then transfer north to Nungwi, where the Indian Ocean meets the beach at its very best.
The Beach Day — No Agenda Except the Ocean
This day has no schedule. The Indian Ocean is 29°C. The sand is white. The beach bar serves cold Kilimanjaro beer. A dhow snorkelling trip departs at 10 AM if you choose to join — the Mnemba Atoll reef is a 40-minute sail away. Otherwise: nothing is required of you today.
Dhow Sunset Cruise — The Most Beautiful Evening in Africa
A private traditional dhow departs at 4:30 PM and carries you west as the sun descends into the Indian Ocean. A seafood dinner is served on board as the sky turns from gold to rose to violet. This evening is the reason people return to Zanzibar.
Last Morning — Slow Breakfast, Then Home
Breakfast overlooking the ocean. A final walk through Stone Town if time allows. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Zanzibar has a way of making home feel very far away.
